Michelle Golden (Who officially has the greatest name EVER) of the The Golden Practices Blog, really hit the nail on the head re value in a recent post. In essence, value is about perception and customer need much more than it is raw materials. Another 50-100 years and space will be our mine anyways, so we'd better have branding and perception to rely on as value creation drivers when infinite resources abound.
So perception and satisfaction: must be why Christina's Dolce's shredded jeans sell for $100 and mine sell for... got a buck?
