I recently discovered Tech Rest, Craig Huggart's blog. And I'll go on record as saying it has one of the best value propositions I've ever encountered: Get more rest. According to Craig:
'You and I were born with a God-given destiny. Lack of rest can sidetrack or prevent us from fulfilling that destiny. Getting rest accelerates movement towards our destiny.'
Amen my friend. Those of you who know me personally know that I advocate taking one day a week off across the board. Saturday or Sunday usually work best, because they're days when typically no one is expecting you to be at your e-mail or workstation. I have to admit I'm often guilty of taking off two half-days per week, but at least it's hypocrisy in the spirit of the principle.
So I recommend you take a look at what Craig's doing, because he's one of the only people out there vigilantly advocating you get rested up. Oh sure, lots of productivity coaches like myself show you how to get more done so theoretically you'll have more time off... but isn't it easy to just use the extra time to get more done?
