Wow... I knew this was coming yet I didn't know it was this far along. You'll also notice it includes Mindjet MindManager Viewer 6....

I have to admit that I don't get what all the hubub is about with an online desktop. I have so many customizations and tweaks (as do many other professionals I know) that this wouldn't be feasible.
Now I own the software that makes the customizations and tweaks possible. With Nivio I'll only be renting them, along with the core apps.
I can only imagine that this is geared for those who use their PC's are a light-use device to check their email and IM their friends.
Not seeing the value proposition here.
What am I missing?

Great points Walter. Power users who are typically early adopters are almost assured to be late adopters of such a technology. Like you said, just too much customization and hacks in place...unless they could bake them in for us. That's probably the only value prop that gets you and I to jump ship.
I think their target will be exactly what you mentioned, the IM and email set, with the hope they will stay with Nivio as they become deeper, more engrossed users. Think of the college user who uses email, IM and Word, and then becomes a deeper user in the corporate/organizational world.
They may also be attempting to serve portions of the market who can't afford hardware but can afford software and a monthly subscription.
The day they get you and I to sign-up, their founders will be billionaires.
Still, I was surprised to see how far the technology had come.
